Becoming an Uxbridge Family Photographer
“The desire probably won't go away until you try it” is what I always tell people who want to start blogging.
I also tell them “If you feel jealous every time someone in your life starts a blog, you feel that way for a reason.”
But for some reason I'm a little thick when it comes to applying these principles to my own interests.
When I was 19 and finishing college, I was really interested in photography! I wanted to pursue it as a hobby and as a business. But for some reason, I didn't allow myself to entertain the thought. I thought it would be an impractical career or that the market was too saturated. I thought my skills weren't good enough so there was no point in trying.
Oh how I wish sweet 19-year-old Micaela had just gone for it. Because how much further ahead would I be right now? How much would I have learned If I'd gone for it?
Life is full of opportunities to regret, but I try not to live that way. I didn't pursue it then, but I can pursue it now. I'm nearly certain that if I don't, I'll turn back 10 years from now and think, “ugh, why didn't I do this at 28?”
So this is the beginning, day one. I'm committed again to learning this craft and taking you along with me!
I'm committed to growing my skills as a family photographer serving Uxbridge and Durham region!
Are these the best photos ever? I sure thought so back in the day!
I also spent many hours forcing my sweet, patient boyfriend (now husband) to take self-portraits with me. Trust me, I have grown a lot since these were taken!
I promise my skills have improved! Go see for yourself
